Assalamu Alaikum, I seek a ruling on a job opportunity in Software Development field at a legal tech company (a NZ tech company) to ensure the income will be halal. 1. Product: My understanding after some research that it is general-purpose B2B SaaS for corporate legal departments (contract management, task tracking, legal vendor invoice management, etc). 2. My Role: Full-Stack Engineer using technologies like (Microsoft .NET/Angular/Azure) building the core platform. Probably writing multi-tenant code. The role will probably include occasional technical “customer engagement” (debugging API issues/UX research). 3. Clients: Clients globally use the platform, including conventional banks (interest-based), retail chains selling alcohol/pork, and corporations on boycott lists for Palestine (e.g., PwC), Insurance companies. Questions: Does the client base including banks or boycotted corporations make my income impermissible or doubtful (Mashbooh)? Is joining technical debugging calls or meetings with IT teams of these clients allowed? JazakAllahu Khairan,

It will be permissible for you to work as a software developer in developing the above mentioned system. However, if you are certain that you are assisting in sin then you should search for another occupation and transfer to the new role.
