Question
If there is a picture of the Kaaba or a dome on the praying mat, if it’s allowed to sit on that area?

We have received your query regarding sitting on a Musallah which has an image of the Kabah or a dome, our response is as follows:
It is permissible to pray on a Musallah which has a picture of the Ka’bah or dome etc. However, it is best that one prays on a simple Musallah which has no pictures or designs, as decorated Musallahs will be a means of distraction for the Musalli and affect the concentration in Salah.[1]
Sitting on a picture of the Ka’bah has an element of disrespect, therefore one should avoid sitting on a Musallah which has the picture of the Ka’bah.
