Assalam o alikum, I wanted to know if it’s permissible for a husband to stay with his wife during childbirth.

We have received your query dated 25/08/2022, our response is as follows:
It is permissible for a husband to see his spouses intimate areas and thus principally it would be permissible for a husband to be present at the time of birth[1], however then too modesty and shame demands that the husband avoids being present when nursing staff etc are by the wife at the time of birth. Yes, if male doctors are present due to some necessity then the husband must be present.
