Assalam Wa Alaikum, I pray you are all well.
I was please wanting to ask on Behalf of my Ammi Jaan, she has been given an opportunity to go to the Hajj, however my brother cannot get a seat on the trip.
Can she attend Hajj with a trustworthy group please?
Needing your help urgently please.

We have received your query regarding travelling to Hajj without a Mahram, our response is as follows:
In accordance to the Hanafi School of Thought, it is not permissible for any free woman whether young or old to undertake a Hajj journey without a Shar’i Mahram. This is established from the Hadith in this regard which explicitly prohibits any female undertaking a journey of more than 48 miles on her own. Thus your mother will require a Mahram, Hajj will not be Fardh on her if she does not have a Shar’i Mahram.
