Salam Alaikum Sheik,
I just had an inquiry regarding something my son was asking me about the other day, he said he found something online on an advertisement and was requesting if he could start it. It was a side hustle sort of program, like passive income which is becoming an increasing trend in the modern day post-COVID. My concern was just if this is legal in shariah, using AI to make referrals for people, sending it and getting money? Jazakallahu Khairan

We are unaware of the specific details of the program, however what we have understood from your question is that you are enquiring about the permissibility of making automated referrals by artificial intelligence.
We advise abstention from earning an income through such means, as it contains the element of deception. It is mentioned in a Hadeeth:
لَيْسَ مِنَّا مَنْ غَشَّ
The one who deceives is not from amongst us (Sunan Abu Dawud, Hadeeth 3452)
