Assalaam alaikum
Please can you answer few question which is bit sensitive. This is for the benefit of my extended family
Person A had a lady Friend B later on got married to her. They had a child C. This person A is religious and spend lots of time in religious work.
Allah knows the best whether the child born, was conceived before Nikha or after Nikha. I know only Allah is the judge. We don’t know whether this person A, did tauba (repentance) or not.
Q1 – Can this person A, lead normal salaat
Q2 – Can this person A, lead salat ul Janaza. (if close family member of his Dies)
Q3 – Is this person A, can get rewards for his good deeds and his salaat.
I know the answers of above all question but please reply ASAP as I need to forward to my extended families as they need to know from someone other than myself.

We received your query with dated 15/03/14. Our response follows:
Maashallah it is good to see that you understand the importance, high rank and position of the one who leads the congregation. The person who leads the prayer should be the most knowledgeable with the laws of Salaah and the one who practices the Sunnah, such as an Aalim of Deen etc.
Together with this we should remember that we keep good thoughts of our Muslim brothers and sisters and not to accuse any one unless we have solid and sound proof and not mere hearsay. Together with this we should not go and search for anyone’s fault in order to expose and shame him as all of these are a Major sin.
Mufti Mahmood Hasan Gangohi Rahimahullah has mentioned that if a Faasiq (open sinner) sincerely repents from his sin and adopts a lifestyle of good deeds than such a person may lead the salaah (Fataawa Mahmoodiya- Faarooqiya Jadeed-105,107/6).
Therefore we advise that if the people are unaware of the person’s Taubah and the people would prefer someone else to lead the prayers then we should opt for someone else to lead the prayers. However if the person has repented then the people should keep their hearts cleans and should not be hesitate in allowing such a person to lead the prayers.
والاحق بالامامة الاعلم باحكام الصلوة فقط صحة و فسادا بشرط اجتنابه للفواحش الظاهرة. ثم الاحسن تلاوة و تجويدا للقرأة ثم الاورع ثم الاسن
