Salaams. We are seeing lots of Halal meat from New Zealand in UK stores. Are the halal meat abattoirs verified by or checked by muftis as authentically halal?

We have received your query regarding meat from New Zealand exported to the United Kingdom, we apologise for the belated reply, our response is as follows:
The Darul Ifta cannot give a blanket ruling on meat exported from New Zealand to the United Kingdom. Please let us know the name of the organisation which certifiers the meat and also the type of meat (poultry, beef, lamb ). Thereafter, we will be able to inform you regarding its status inshallah. However, our advice to you is that exported meat should not be consumed until you receive the complete procedure and details of slaughter.
