What is the ruling on consuming salt before meals?

We acknowledge the receipt of your query, our response follows herewith:
The consumption of salt before meals happens to be the view and practice of some prominent Jurists. Even though that the scholars of Hadeeth have raised objections with regards to the status of the narrators of the Hadeeth, the fact that it has been the practice and view of prominent jurists such as Allamah Shaami rahmatullahi alaih, creates scope and leeway for its implementation on the basis of the saying of Hadhrat Abdullah bin Mas’ood radhiallahu anhu:
ما رأه المومنون حسنا فهو عند الله حسن
“That which is regarded to be good by the Mu’meneen will be regarded to be good by Allah Ta’alaa.”
