Azaan and neighbours

(#166)

Question

Assalam wa alaikum,

In Sha Allah this email finds you well and in good health by the grace of Allah SWT.

A quick question regarding causing trouble for neighbours. Alhamdolillah I have great neighbours however giving of the Adhan before prayers is causing alot of problems for our neighbours as our properties are located close together. I have patiently been giving the adhan

Following the hadith of Rasulullah Sallealahu Wasallam around treatment of neighbours what are the solutions available? I dont believe speaking to them about my Adhan will make things better infact it may make things worse.

The neighbour is a non-muslim and also keeps to themselves alot. I sense his tolerance towards my family deteriorating over time as a result of the adhan being given daily. I endeavour to pray fajr and easha at the mosque but cannot do inbetween salats at mosque so either they are done at home or work.
at Maghreb only and Fajr when I cannot or did not attend the mosque. No issues at Fajr but maghreb adhan is becoming a issue.

Your guidance in this matter will be greatly appreciated.

May Allah SWT keep your efforts continued for the benefit of the brother and sisters and reward you and the organisation accordingly In Sha Allah.

Allah Hafiz

We have received your query dated 05/12/2022, our response is as follows:

You should endeavour to pray all your Salaah in the Masjid. If due to some genuine Shar’ee reason you are unable to perform your Salaah in the Masjid then we recommend that you speak to your neighbour politely and explain to him the beauty of Islam and continue to give the Azaan.

And Allah Ta’ala knows best
