Question relating to Khula

Question

(#270)

Country : New Zealand

Assalam o alaikum, Husband and I have been living separately in same home for quite some time because we were trying to sort out finances, have 4 kids under the age of 15, have joint home with mortgage. Now, i feel ready to move on. This situation is unbearable! He threatens me of divorce every 2nd day but never takes action. We are mot even on talking terms despite multiple reconciliation attempts and mediators intervention . Kindly advise on following:- 1): what is the process of khulaa in NZ and how to start and who is the contact process in this regard? 2): i had only $25 in Mehr so happy to return. 3): i am based in Christchurch so can proceed with you remotely? 4): can live in husband’s home during Iddaa? Please advise as i am not familiar how to proceed in NZ??? We are going to sign separation agreement soon to meet legal NZ requirements. Thank you.
