Question
Assalāmu Alaikum respected Mufti Saheb. I seek advice regarding the following: 1. When a male child is born, is there any particular Sunnah timeframe to do circumcision (for eg, on 7th day?) 2. I am unaware of the methods of circumcision and only learning now due to anticipated birth of my child. Apparently in New Zealand, the “Plastibell Method” is used. Is this permissible? Is there any specific method that is considered Sunnah? Jazakallahu khair

We have received your query regarding circumcision, our response is as follows:
- There is no specific day for circumcision. It should be done before the child matures/ becomes baaligh.[1]
- The Plastibell technique may be adopted.[2]
